A. The gain per post is 5. You can also gain it by winning contests or advertising (if you advertise, just send the links to me in a PM for 5 Byte each).
Q. So this board doesn't have any canon characters?
A. As of the moment, no. It may or may not in the future, depending on events, activity, and plot movement.
Q. Can I have a character of another race turn into a Virus? Or vice-versa?
A. Yes, you can have any character turn into a virus as long as the event is RPed out. If such an event comes up, please PM staff with a link to the topic where it happened, so that your profile can be moved (note that you may have to edit it slightly). If you want a Virus to turn/turn back into a regular race, though, you must purchase the race change in the OOC store.
Q. Do race or attribute changes bought in the OOC store require profile edits?
A. Just a bit, you will required to fill out the race/alignment specific section right in the shop during the purchase, but beyond that staff will take care of the rest.
Q. If I've already purchased extra skill slots before I purchased an attribute change, will I loose the extra slots?
A. No. You will have to change your powers, but you'll keep the same amount of slots.
Q. I have an awesome idea for a race! Can I use it?
A. All characters must be one of the six accepted races. Several of these races actually allow for quite a bit of a variance, as well. However, if you have an idea that is distinctively different than any of the current five, PM me with as much details and info about it as you can, and I will consider adding it to the roster. If it does get added, you will of course be credited, and the race will become open to everyone.
Q. If the setting is virtual, why are their meadows, forests, other machines, and all that stuff?
A. It's all how the character's are made to perceive it and how it affects them. All that stuff may not be real, but to the characters it all essentially is to them.
Q. So characters can effect the environments with there minds? How does that play out in an actual RP setting?
A. However you want it to! You can take a creative license and describe the settings differently than the default description, depending on your character, but be aware that these alterations generally don't affect any other characters aside from your own.
Q. Why are the board icons so dang huge? It looks funny.
A. Are you using Chrome as a browser? It's an error that unfortunately exists in Chrome. It should look fine, however, in Opera, Firefox, or IE. It's untested in other browsers, so I'm unaware if the problem exists anywhere besides Chrome.
Q. I've noticed a lot of Virus character that have some sort of ability that allows them to temporarily regain a human appearance. Can I use something like this if I make a Virus, too?
A. If you choose to, of course. A good amount of Virus characters do have some sort of ability that works to that effect as one of their two skills. Their base, true appearance should always be based on some sort of creature, but having such an ability is a good compromise for for those wanting to play a Virus, but not wanting to play a character that is completely animalistic.[/ul][/size]
Here is where you can find miscellaneous information. Unlike the other topics in this area, this is not a mandatory read, but come here first if you have a question in case the answer is already here. I may also add questions that others ask if I feel that the answers might benefit others as well. Also, you can check this topic in the questions and suggestions board - a compendium of questions and answers asked via PM that another member put up for others to read.
