What he said made no sense to her at all. He keeps insisting that they loved each other, even though she does not know what this feeling or love is, nor has she felt it for as long as she remembered as a Hollow. He also told her that he will keep trying until she regains her memory and learns to feel emotions. That was impossible, considering that Hollows lack emotions naturally. "... You cannot change the way we Hollows are... Even if I did have memories of you and regained them through some process I cannot even think of, I will still feel no emotion no matter how hard you try..."
She was about to tell him to give up when he suddenly asked about her being a part of a defense system. He apparently wanted to join and asked her how. She simply shook her head and kept walking, looking straight ahead. "I do not have any knowledge as to how the components of the defense system in this world are chosen..." she said plainly. The only reason that she was in the system was because she was chosen to be one of them after seeing her potential as a merciless killer. Being a Hollow without emotions contributed to her qualifications even more. She forgot that she hasn't told him all about her nature in battle at all and decided to keep it that way.

"I know... I know... Maybe I'm hoping for a Miracle. I mean, you seemed angry when I pulled you away from the Hollows, and Sympathetic when you allowed me to feed off of you. Maybe Hollows CAN feel emotion, to an extent." He said with a ponderous look. "Im going to follow you back to HQ, then... Ask them about joining up with the Defense Force..." He said with a nod as they walked. They should be getting close to town... He reached into his pack, pulled his mask down and taking a drink of his water, feeling it get light. It was almost gone. Good thing he was heading back... he slid it back into his pouch and looked at Iris. "How hard are your assignments, usually?" He asked, getting some info on the Taskforce couldnt hurt, right? He smiled a bit as he saw the town come into view. Their adventure was almost over...

Johnathan was being terribly mistaken as to her reasons for acting like she did a while ago. To clarify everything and leave no questions about what happened unanswered, she started talking once again in her usual blank and emotionless voice. "... Once again, you are mistaken... I did not feel emotion during those times. Allow me to explain. When you assumed to 'pull me away from danger', I simply gave you a warning to prevent further errors of that sort again. No anger was involved... When I let you take energy from me, it was because I did not want to go back to headquarters saying that I lost a civilian because of accidental power absorption. No sympathy was involved... at least, I do not think so..."
Once again, one topic switched to another as he asked about her assignments. Everything concerning specific information of their operations or evn anything about them was classified and should not be leaked, but a general idea would not hurt anyone. "... I am already in a higher rank... My assignments or missions mostly involve infiltration, data-collection, and high-risk defense at the hardest... Any specifics are classified..."

"I know what I saw... but if you say so, we'll just drop it. I want into the Defense Force... I need to help protect the world from these Viruses... They're nothing but mutants that need to be eradicated..." He said with a sigh.
"So, It's pretty easy work? Does it pay well? I mean, if people are putting their life on the line on a daily basis, Im sure someone would want monetary compensation..." He said, his sentence drifting off as he thought back on his last ten years. He realized he hadn't seen a defense force until just recently. "How long ago did the defense force start up?" He asked, a questioning look on his face. He sighed happily as his feet made contact with something other than sand. They finally made it into the city. "Well, I guess all that's left is for you to report, and for me to get a Badge." he said with a grin.

She looked at him, raising an eyebrow at what he said. It seems like Johnathan had some quite extreme views about the viruses. Viruses to Iris were just lost corrupted programs that needed to be rid of their misery. Not that she cared about their suffering, but because it was her duty and her mission.
It was as if he was underestimating the work that she does for the antiviruses, so she sighed and shook her head in disagreement. "I do not comprehend what is 'easy' for you, but I assume that the difficulty of the mission is relative to that antivirus who takes it. Since I am a frontal assault expert, I view direct raids and straight-on clashes easier than long-range ambush. Even though my weapon has a function that allows it to do so, I use it only to weaken my opponent before he or she reaches me... I do not take payment for my job, and yes.. if you truly want to become one of us, I will not stop you, do what you want."
