~~~Hours ago~~~
Andrew walked into the headquarters for the VDF, an angry look on his face. He had been relieved of duty a long while ago, due to supposed dealings with the Annulus Institute. As he walked, he got a few glares from members that had believed the rumors that were spread. According to said rumors, Zane wasn't actually killing any of the viruses he was sent to disband, and instead was selling them to the Institute for a high price, and then taking his reward money as a bonus.
He made his way into the office of the Captain of the Antivirus squad, and opened the door, throwing it open and looking at the man. "I DEMAND to be reinstated." He started, an angry look on his face. "I can kill Viruses without your badge, but I gain no respect from anyone when I need information, and people are dying because they wont get out of the way during a virus attack." He said. He couldn't remember how many people died because they didn't believe one crazed man with no authority.
"You say I've been dealing with the Annulus Institute, but I can say without a shred of doubt that I don't remember ANY of these allegations against me. If I did, I would own up to them." His voice started sounding more pleading than angry. It was true that his /body/ was dealing with the institute, but i was also true that he didn't remember. His mind being long since shattered, causing a personality separation. He has no idea of the other man that lived in the same body. The Captain waved a hand, signalling for Andrew to leave him. Andrew let out a growl of anger and turned, exiting the building, heading off to prove himself.
~~~Now~~~
Andrew strode through the canyon, an angry look on his face as he swung his scythe down, cutting through a Raven Virus, turning and firing his whipfist outward at a wolf that was coming up behind him. He brought the whipfist upward, catching a crack in the sheer cliff next to him, and threw himself upward, the spike at the end of the whip releasing and returning to cover his fist. He leapt high, over a small pack of Wolf-like Viruses, and spun, bringing the scythe down between him and them. He brought his hand upward as the group jumped, but a blast of wind knocked them backward, corralling them with a few more viruses that were working their way toward the man, before another blast of wind pushed them off, sending them cascading into the ravine below.
Zane picked up his scythe, and continued walking, unaware of the one wolf that caught itself and made its way back onto the ledge. As the Virus pinned him, he almost chuckled as the Wolf tried biting into his shoulder, the cloak negating most oft he force. The claws tail snaked its way up, digging into the wolfs chest and tearing out the chip, crushing it, and draining the bit of energy it gave. Zane stood back up, and continued walking, making his way to the top of the Canyon, finally, and looking in the direction he had originally come.
"If they wouldve reinstated me... I'd have help with this... Im good, but I can't clear out ALL of these viruses on my own... not at the speed that they're corrupting things..." He said, his voice sounding tired. he planted his scythe in the ground, the blade easily digging into the ground with his strength. He sat down, leaning against the Scythe, and sighed, relaxing. "I hope someone happens by soon, someone that can hold their own against a swarm of Viruses..."
His thoughts turned to John Pierce, one of his old partners from the Antivirus squad. He had been good at taking out Viruses, his guns and pinpoint accuracy, and Zanes ability to see Chip locations made the two a force to be reckoned with. Then his mind shifted to Sofia Blakke. She had worked with him a few times, more as a babysitter than anything when the allegations of his dealings started to circulate. While she was easily higher ranked than he was, and despite the fact she was there to make sure Zane was actually doing his job, he enjoyed the missions he was sent on with her. She was great at what she did... Zane closed his eyes, grumbling to himself as he rested, waiting for anyone to come by...
