Elizabeth stared wide-eyed at all the street markets and people passing by. This place was always like this, yet it somehow took her by surprise each time - the rather withdrawn girl didn't come here often. But right now she had time to kill, and she didn't want to spend it at home. She had recently fed on a victim, and she also had a bit of money for once, making her eager to want to spend this time pleasantly for once. There were many quieter choices, but this time she felt the need to see some life around her.
Many of the things that were being sold were quite strange, from odd clothing accessories, such as hats and scarves, to trinkets like figurines and bells.
This place was actually not that different from the city that she'd lived in, back before the conversion, she realized. She hadn't always liked the bustle back then, but now it seemed familiar in a bittersweet way. It was one of the few places that, if she used her imagination, could seem relatively normal. Like the way things had been before.
She absently stopped as a silver gleam caught her eye. There was a man selling jewelry, who was currently showing off an odd, silver colored pendant that resembled a pocket-watch to some other customers. It was oddly entrancing, with its silver hue and the rhythmic tick from inside.
Noticing the disinterest of the other customers, she stepped up and asked how much it was, ultimately purchasing it. It probably wasn't the wisest use of the money, but at least now she had something to show for her little trip out here. Her sister always had the nicest things...even in this world, that hadn't changed.
Putting the pendant around her neck, she smiled satisfactorily, continuing down the busy streets as she kept her eye out for anything else of interest. She wanted to make the most of this while she was here - peace never seemed to last long.

Peace never lasted long, especially not for Reyn. The centaur like being plodded along and ultimately entered the city. As he did the world under his feet warped and shifted. Buildings not so much crumbled but vanished as he past them, being replaced by trees. The ground beneath cracked as grass came over it. As Reyn walked closer his forest grew and the city began to fall to pieces. The inhabitants of the city panicked as a virus made it's way to the heart of the city. Reyn paid them no mind and ignored them as he walked. He was more interested in the city than anything. His pale white eyes scanned over the city with interest before he changed it into something he knew. Reyn had never liked cities, they were to noisy and filled with too many people. He passed by several screaming people and watched them as they went.
He shrugged as he pressed forward, more trees appearing in his wake. The only things untouched by his powers were the sky and the people. Reyn had feasted on a small settlement not far from where they were now and had excess energy for once. He figured he might as well spend it exploring instead of looking for new meals. His mask like face held no expression as he watched the people flee in terror. If he could show one it would have been curiosity. In the distance he saw a larger group of people all of them looking at different items. Reyn put on a burst of speed and galloped towards them. Most of them ran, dropping there goods.
Once he was at his destination the entire area changed. The buildings that were still around became covered in vines and trees burst through what were once windows, grass sprang up between cracks, but the had been for sale where still around. Reyn walked over to them as his distortion spread to to encompass the entire city. He bent down and picked up a small silver bracelet and looked over it. "Pretty?" he asked himself as he held it up to the light. He looked around, wondering if there was anyone who could help him answer his questions.

The Siren meandered her way in the general direction of the theatre, Elizabeth still looking for a way to entertain herself before she had to head back out of the city and back home. The city remained as noisy and bustling no matter how far she walked, but it was when she heard a loud scream that she was suddenly jostled out of her thoughts. The cry was followed by several others behind her, making her whip her gaze back in the direction she'd come.
Her gaze instantly widened. The buildings were vanishing, being over taken by forests and vines behind her as people scrambled in panic. "W...what...?" She muttered, stepping back as her heart started pounding. What the heck was happening to the city?
It took her a moment to identify the source. A strange, centaur-like man was making his way up the street, the landscape transforming in his wake. Even amongst the odd forms of the other races like Leeches and Beasts, he was an usual, somewhat frightening sight. A Virus, she realized, instantly tensing.
She'd never actually seen one before, but she'd plenty of stories about them. This was their power? She let out a cry herself as several other people ran passed her, fleeing the scene. She turned her gaze away again to run, but it was difficult amongst the panicking crowd. Someone else shoved into her, the older woman not even bothering to stop and look as the Siren girl felt to the ground with a thud.
The world changed around her as the Virus approached, the girl not getting away in time to avoid it. Luckily, however, she was unharmed and unchanged as she got back to her feet. She turned back to the find the centaur-like man not far behind her, making the girl gasp and quickly dart behind one of the newly appeared trees in an attempt to hide.
Had he seen her...? She carefully peeked out from the side of the trunk. Luckily the Virus seemed distracted, bending down and picking up a silver bracelet that gleamed in a similar way to her pendant. He held it up, examining it seemingly innocently.
"Pretty?"
She heard him asked, the girl blinking as the Virus looked around, as if he was hoping for an answer. She tensed again. Should she say anything? She'd heard they were very dangerous, but so far it didn't seem like anything except the landscape had been affected by his presence - no one had been hurt yet. Timidly, she stuck her head out further from behind the tree.
"It looks quite pretty to me..." She eventually answered with a slightly trembling voice, trying not to look as nervous as she was.

Reyn's observation of the item had been correct and his eyes danced with joy as he tangled his fingers within the silver chain. He turned around to look for the person who had kindly obliged his curiosity with an appropriate answer. His hooves thudded against the ground as he turned and located the woman who had given him an answer. His white eyes looked from his braclet to her several times before he extended his hand towards her, presenting the bracelet. "Pretty," he said with a nod, proud that he had been able to identify if something was beautiful or not. He noticed the item on his neck and he tilted his head to the side. He leaned down, being almost eight feet tall, and examined the necklace she wore.
He told himself that her necklace was better than what he currently had wrapped around his long slender fingers. He straightened up before he lifted his hand up and distorted it, allowing the bracelet to fall onto his wrist. His hand returned to its normal state and he nodded, a sign that he was pleased. He admired the bracelet he now wore before lowering his arm to his side. He looked at the woman and then looked around at the newly created forest. They seemed to be the only form of life that was left there. For some reason this woman wasn't terrified of him. He wondered why. Was she strange like him?
He thought about what to say. Nothing really came to mind as he tried to grasp the words. Soon one appeared before him. "T-tank." he said slowly, attempting to pronounce the world correctly. "Th-thank," he continued as he continued to struggle with the word. He stopped talking and touched his hand to his chin, an obvious sign he was beginning to think about what he wanted to say. He must have been an incredibly odd sight for most people to see. Very few Viruses could talk and when they did the words were often something one expected an insane man to spout. Reyn had spoken and also proven to have some sort of kindness to him, even if it was childlike.
After all, how many times did one have a Virus attempting to thank them? This was probably the first time. Reyn eventually pronounced the word correctly after several tries. He looked at the woman and then tapped his hand against his almost metallic chest. Reyn was weird in that he was more monstrous than the average Virus. Instead of looking like an animal or monster from mythology he appeared as a strange mixture of hard gray flesh and traits of the mythical centaur. "Reyn," he said as he tapped his chest lightly. He then pointed at the woman.

The Virus' eyes lit up at the answer, the centaur-like man looking around in the direction of her voice afterwards. Elizabeth flinched as he caught site of her, but she forced herself not to run. His eyes flickered from the bracelet, back to her, and then he eventually lifted up his hand and extended the bracelet towards her. "Pretty." He announced again with a nod, seeming oddly proud.
He noticed her similar necklace then, tilting his head and leaning down to examine it. She flinched again, taking a small step back as his face came closer. He briefly distorted his own hand afterwards, letting the bracelet drop through his arm before he returned it to its original form, making it stay in place around his wrist. He nodded satisfactorily, before lowering his arm again and turning back towards her.
"T-tank...th-thank..."
Elizabeth blinked, surprised. Was he trying to thank her? She'd heard that most Virus' couldn't speak, much less in a semi-coherent way. It was obvious that he was trying to form the sounds correctly, the Virus struggling to get the words out. She hadn't seen any others to compare him to, but a Virus with manners certainly seemed an anomaly.
He eventually managed to pronounce the word, before tapping his chest, which gave out a metallic sound.
"Reyn." He stated simply, before pointing towards her.
Elizabeth blinked again, not sure what he was referring to at first. ...Reyn...? Was that his name? Did Viruses have names? She didn't really know anything about them, but relaxed just a slight bit, figuring that that had to be the case. "I'm Elizabeth." She eventually answered, trying to give a slight smile in spite of herself.

"Elizabeth," he said as he attempted to say her name. It rolled off his nonexistent tongue and he found that it was easy for him to say. For the first time since he had met her he actually looked her over. Again the word pretty came to mind. She was a siren, she was supposed to be just as he was supposed to be frightening in appearance. Her ears caught his attention and he examined them for a few moments before looking at the rest of her. He tilted his head to the side as what she was registered in his mind. "Siren," he mused to himself as he closed his eyes. He had turned some of her kind before. The memories were fresh in his mind and he felt a small pang of remorse. Maybe those Sirens would have talked to him.
Reyn then looked around, once again thinking about other people. He looked for any trace of living beings, but again, he and Elizabeth were the only ones. He sighed rather loudly as he turned back toward her. "Gone," he said as he looked back at her. His eyes showing the disappointment that he currently felt. He hunched his shoulders in an oh well sort of fashion and laid down. Laying down Reyn was still rather tall standing at almost five and a half feet. "Sad," he said, talking more about the fact that they had left him rather than his mood. Out of disappointment he began to mess with the code of his surroundings once more.
He glanced up at the leaves of his creations as he changed their colors. From red, to orange, to nonexistent, he cycled through the seasons until he finally grew bored of them and turned them back into their appropriate colors. He remembered something and looked at Elizabeth. Distortion hurt normal beings. Well, not so much hurt them as it made them uncomfortable, the opposite of how it effected Viruses. Reyn looked around and wondered if his world was hurting Elizabeth. It was heavily distorted after all as the entire city was now a sort of forest ruin that one read about in old books or saw in old video games.
"Hurt?" he asked as he pointed toward the trees that surrounded them. This was the first time Reyn had been able to talk to someone and he wanted them to feel comfortable, wanted them to like him. Now that was a strange thought, a Virus worrying about being liked instead of destroying whatever was in his path. In a sense, he had destroyed the city, but only to raise his own tiny kingdom of flora.

The Virus repeated her name as she told it, before looking her over. She tensed as she did though, her muscles ready to react in case she had to run. The last thing she wanted was to be harmed or turned. Instead of anything dangerous, though, he just made a rather harmless observation, identifying her race.
"That's right." She nodded with a bit of a smile. Of all the races, Siren's were the ones who generally looked the most human. They didn't have any animal claws or tails, mechanical parts, or wings. They occasionally had a few slight mutations, like her long, almost elf-like ears, but other than that, the girl looked like a just slightly prettier version of her old self back in the real world.
He glanced around again as he re-opened his eyes, as if looking for something. "Gone..." He finally concluded with something almost like sadness in his voice, looking back to her with oddly disappointed eyes.
Elizabeth blinked...did he mean the people? He hunched his shoulders and plopped down. "Sad..." He muttered quietly, bewildering the girl even more. Sad... She tried to comprehend his few brief words and actions. Was he...lonely? He certainly didn't fit what others had told her about his kind. The girl felt an odd pang of pity.
"They were just a bit frightened..." She stated, with her head down a bit. He probably already knew that, and it probably didn't make him feel any better, but she wasn't sure what else to say. She'd been very frightened at first, too.
Noticing the leaves above her begin to change in color and appearance, she looked up, watching absently. She wasn't all that alarmed anymore - it didn't seem like he wasn't doing anything that affected people.
"Hurt?" He suddenly asked as he let the leaves turn back to normal and gestured back toward the forest that had been the city only a few minutes ago.
The Siren blinked again, before comprehending what she thought he was asking. "W...well..." She sputtered. "It's quite pretty, but I'm sure that some people will be rather sad that the city is gone..." She answered, hoping that the response wouldn't upset him. A Virus who worried about his actions? There's one story that no one else back home would believe.
