Zane moved through the woods swiftly, his scythe gripped tightly in his hand as he ran. He jumped, and brought the scythe upward, catching a tree and using the momentum to swing over a fallen log effortlessly. He jumped again, bringing the point of his scythe sideways, stopping it before it hit a tree. He spun the thing around himself nimbly, practicing the swings. The scythe is an awkward weapon to use, so he practices a few times a week. He used the Willow Woods because it was usually relatively empty, and the haunting echoes from the Sirens Cove echoed through the trees. It wasn't enough to entice him, but it was nice to listen to. He spun the scythe again, this time, a blade of shadows erupting from it. He grinned, spinning the scythe in a full circle, and he rested it over his shoulder, leaning on the scythe. He took a deep breath as beads of sweat dripped from his brow, down his nose, before falling to the ground below. He wiped the sweat from his brow onto the sleeve of his Trenchcoat, and sighed, dropping back against a tree and sitting down. He had plenty of his energy left, about 89%. He closed his eyes and listened to his surroundings. He heard a few sets of footsteps, he couldn't quite discern distance or size, but he knew there were Footsteps.

Alazne strolled cautiously through the woods. She had heard a rumor a while ago, something about these woods having lurking spirits in them. Spirits scared her, even if they were kind spirits. No matter how one thought of them, they always seemed so menacing. So she tread cautiously along the forest floor, careful not to disturb anything that may be sacred to those spirits.
She had chosen the willow woods for a stroll despite the spirits because of the sheer loveliness of the setting, and the isolation. It was conducive to deep thoughts, the kind of thoughts that Alazne so loved to think of, even if she would never share them aloud. She used to share them to Danel, but he was absent from this scene, as he had been for a while. For the life of her, she couldn't remember where he had gone. It seemed as if one day he had just disappeared, and she knew that he would never do it on purpose. Perhaps she would find him again, she had been keeping an eye out for years now.
Alazne was about a while away from a clearing as she saw a flourish of movement. She froze in her tracks, watching closely for signs of angry spirits. After a few minutes she was still lacking a reason to assume that it was a spirit so she pressed forward, a little more cautiously than before, holding out her hands to ward away anything that may want to attack. She entered the clearing and was relieved to see that it was only a man, a sigh of relief left her lips as she let her hands fall to her sides.
She approached the man with a smile, happy to see another in the usually barren woods. "Um... Hello." Alazne said quietly, lifting a hand in greeting while showing that her own weapon was put away so as to not startle the man into attacking. His scythe looked rather nasty, after all.

Zane shifted, gripping his Scythe tightly as the other approached. He calmed down when he noticed that it wasn't a Virus. He calmed down a bit, not standing up. He looked over the girl that stood before him and smiled. He pushed himself onto his feet with his scythe, and slid it into it's holder on his back. "Why, hello there, Ma'am." He said, bowing low. "My name is Zane Haskill. What's yours?" He asked, smiling at her. "I must say, your beauty accentuates the trees around you wonderfully." He said with a smile.
He chuckled to himself, he didn't NEED to ask for her name. "Alazne... That's a Beautiful Name." he said with a grin. He took note of her abilities, and they were pretty cool. "You have... Abilities that are... Interesting." He had to formulate the sentence right, he grabbed her hand and pulled her into the center of the clearing. "Come now, show me what you can do!" He said with an excited tone.

Alazne smiled as the man, Zane, introduced himself and bowed to her. Chivalry should always be appreciated, it was nice to meet someone who agreed. As he commented on her so-called beauty she blushed profusely. That was the second time in only a short period of time that someone had called her beautiful, although she was still inclined to disbelief on that particular subject. She knew she was plain, and that wasn't some humble opinion, it was the truth. Alazne wasn't anything special to look at, but she appreciated the effort taken to tell her otherwise.
Laz opened her mouth, ready to speak when he took the words out of her mouth. How did he know her name? She looked at him with a puzzled smile. "Can you read minds?" She asked him curiously as he dragged her to the center of the clearing. It would certainly be a unique skill, not one that she had ever come across in this dream world.
She smiled at him once again, and obliged his request. She raised a hand delicately and sent out a stream of voices, all directed at different parts of the forest. Most of them were placed behind trees, some were placed above them in the air, and one was placed directly over Zane's shoulder. They all cried out "I'm here!" "No, over here!" at once, in an orchestral fashion. She let her hand go back to her side and the voices all stopped at once. She smiled at Zane "Well, that's about it. Um, what can you do?" She asked, trying to sound polite and not too interested.

"No, my dear. No mind reading here. One of my abilities is an HUD. Whenever I see someone, I see their Name, Abilities, and Chip Location! It's a useful ability, especially when Im hunting viruses. Pinpoint kills on them all." He bragged with a nod and a wide grin.
He crossed his arms as Alazne said she'd demonstrate her ability, a smile played across his face. He looked around between the voices and chuckled. "WONDERFUL!" He said aloud, looking back at the leech next to him.
"What can I do, indeed." He said with a sly smile. His eyes glowed white momentarily, and he mimicked Alaznes movements as voices cascaded from him in all directions. After a few moments the voices, which only spoke gibberish, faded. He looked at her with a smile. "I can do just about Anything." He chuckled. He held his hands out, palms upwards. A spiral of shadows gathered in one hand, and a small thundercloud in the other. "Im a Mimic. But unlike other Mimics, I can write up to two abilities into myself, and use them at Will." He grinned widely, releasing the two others he showed.

Alazne nodded as Zane explained his HUD. It sure sounded like mind reading to her, but she wouldn't mention that. He seemed quite proud of it, after all. "So... Do you like hunting viruses?" She asked him conversationally after she had demonstrated her abilities for him. She laughed out loud at how excited he seemed by her abilities, he was very charming.
She laughed and spun around as the voices sounded around her. They were like her own, but somehow they were different. She supposed that it could just be the fact that they weren't her own, and that she couldn't expect what they were going to say, but they seemed so... individual from her own. In addition, they were speaking that gibberish. She wondered briefly if he was making them say that, or if they were speaking for themselves. No, they were illusions, controlled illusions. They didn't have voices of their own. Still though, the fact that he could imitate her... "That's amazing." She told Zane as he held out his hands. She tilted her head to the side, waiting for something else to happen. As the shadows and clouds gathered she held out her hand to touch them, but restrained herself; they could be dangerous, after all. She smiled at him as they released. "So, you can have any powers that you want? That's amazing!" She repeated, looking at him with a large smile on her face.

Zane shrugged at her question about the Viruses. "Nah, Only if I get attacked by one. The group I look for is trying to find a cure for the Viruses." He mentioned with a nod, leaning against a tree. "But it's always good to stay sharp, eh?" He asked with a wide grin.
Zane chuckled at her excitement. "It's not THAT amazing... It takes a lot of energy to do use. But yea, I can have any two powers I wish. He returned her smile, and moved closer to her walking around her and examining her wings closely. He pulled a glove off and ran a hand carefully over her left wing. "Beautiful." He said, moving around her again, looking her head to toe. "Truly." He said with a smile. He slid his glove back on, and sighed. "Well then. I'm sure I'm boring you, What would you like to talk about, or what would you like to do?" He asked with a smile.

Alazne tilted her head to the side. "What group is that?" She asked Zane curiously. She'd really kept to herself in a hermit-like fashion since Danel had disappeared, she had never heard of such a group. She wondered slightly if the viruses wanted to be cured, that would be taking away the essence of what they were, who they were. Alazne certainly wouldn't want her humanity taken away from her, and she supposed that the viruses probably wouldn't want what made them viruses taken away from them. Then again, what made them viruses could be thought of as a corruption of their former selves, but did that really change anything? She snapped out of her train of thought. It didn't matter either way really, most viruses probably didn't care about their fate, deciding to rather care only about destruction.
She focused back on Zane as he circled around her, examining her wings. She blushed slightly as he touched her wing, the wing fluttering slightly as he stopped. It brought her a few inches off the ground, matching the feeling in her stomach. A smile lit up her face as she touched back down on the forest floor. "Um, thank you." Alazne said in regards to the compliment, her face still tinted pink. "You're not." She told him quietly. "Boring me, I mean. But I would like to know more about you, if that's alright."

"Ah, Anullus Institute. Just a group of scientists that got together to better the world. We're not just working on a cure, but also trying to put a stop to the energy crisis." He said with a nod, and looked at Alaznes cheeks with a chuckle. "Come now, M'lady, Your cheeks are as pink as my hair. What reason do you have to blush?" He asked with a wink. "I am merely stating some simple facts about the lady before me." He grinned.
"Ah, You'd like to know more about Zane Haskill... There isn't a whole lot to tell. I grew up being ridiculed by my peers. All of them calling me insane, or crazy. I didn't really like that... It drove me crazy, quite frankly... After a short while I started blacking out for long periods of time and waking up in different places, sometimes int he middle of preforming an action. I still have yet to figure that one out... Then, at age 16, they arrested me as a suspect of a serial killer in my home town. I didn't kill people, but they had evidence saying I did..." He sighed, then shrugged. "But hey, I blacked out and appeared outside of the courtroom, waking up in this world." He said, looking at her with an excited grin. "Now, Im sure the boys were just fightin to get with you... How about you tell me your story now?" He walked over and placed a hand on her shoulder, leading her to a fallen log and sitting down, allowing her room to sit as well.

"Is that... is that working?" Alazne asked in regards to the Anullus Institute's efforts. If they could put a stop to the energy crisis and find a cure... That would, that would make this world almost bearable. No need for fighting, no need for anything. There would be peace, at least for a short while. She smiled at the thought and at Zane's chuckle. It had such a lovely ring to it... "You're really too kind." She mumbled as she turned away from Zane to hide her smile.
Alazne turned back towards him as he briefly explained his history with a slight frown. It was odd, really, the black outs, the alleged murders... She didn't think he could kill someone without just cause. She knew he couldn't, wouldn't. Of course, she didn't realize how naive that sounded, she would call it simple faith. She was curious though, about the black outs and the murders. Maybe she would bring it up later when she knew Zane better.
She giggled at Zane's comment about the boys and sat down on the log in the space that Zane had given her. "My life... There isn't much to say. Everything was average, really. I had good friends and I had good grades and a good family life. It was just... good. I... Um... Met someone important a little later, but I can't really... remember?" She giggled uncomfortably. "I'm sorry, that happens to me sometimes. It's always the same thing, always about that person... Sometimes I just... Block it out." She said timidly, twiddling her thumbs and looking down at her feet. Her face was tinted pink once again, at this rate it would be permanent.

"Im not sure how it's going... We haven't gotten very far with it... So far." He sighed, and then smiled t her compliment. "It's not hard... Being kind to someone as sweet and cute as you." He said, a definite flirtatious hint to his voice. He scooted closer to her, and turned his body so he was facing her. He listened intently as she told her story about... Someone, a frown crossing his face as she spoke. It was hard, not remembering people, he was sure. he hadn't experienced it, but it did sound... Brutal...
He sighed and wrapped his hands around her stomach, hugging her tightly. He nuzzled her cheek with his, feeling the warmth of it. "Im sorry... It's hard when you cant remember things. If there's anything I can do to help, Please... Let me know." He said with a happy tone, his arms still wrapped around her. He bit his lip softly, thinking. He leaned forward slightly and kissed Alazne's cheek. "Enough blushing, M'lady. Too much longer and you may never lose that skin tone." He said with a slight smile.

Alazne's cheeks flushed once again, although by now it was barely effecting the pink. Sweet and cute? He was really too kind. She didn't know whether that was a good thing, she knew she wasn't as pretty as he made her out to be and sweet? That word didn't mean anything, really. It was a compliment for a compliment's sake. Still though, that was a good thing, wanting to compliment someone. The feeling in her stomach that came from the things Zane said was definitely a good thing, so what did it matter if he meant the compliment or not?
As Zane wrapped his arms around her waist she stiffened up a little, not expecting this kind of contact, but loosened up again as she decided she liked it. "You know, you remind me of him." She mused, without thinking much about what she was saying. She smiled as this thought registered in her mind. "See? You're helping just by being here." Alazne said happily, turning her head slightly to face him as he leaned in to kiss her cheek. Their lips touched for a second and Alazne quickly turned away, her face blossoming red. "I-I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to... I-I mean... I'm sorry... N-Not that I didn't want... but, so s-soon... I'm s-sorry... It's my f-fault..." She said rapidly, moving away from Zane in embarrassment.

Zane smiled a bit as she said he was helping just by being there. "Im glad I could help." He said, and his eyes widened as their lips met. He stayed still and silent for a few moments, trying to figure out what had just happened as Alazne stumbled over her words, apologizing. "Quiet." He said, looking at her and moving to her side again. "Stop apologizing..." He said with a slight smile. "It wasn't bad." He said quietly, looking down and away from Alazne.
"It's been a long time since I kissed someone like this, honestly... I had a girl in the real world. Not much to talk about, you know, High School love." He said with a slight chuckle, then looking back at Alazne. He placed a hand on her shoulder, then the other brushed her cheek. He looked into her eyes with a smile and said. "This is nice... I like being around you."

Her string of apologies went unrelenting until Zane told her to be quiet. She really hoped he didn't get the wrong impression, she really wasn't the kind of girl to steal a kiss. Was it stealing a kiss if she hadn't meant to? It had just happened, maybe it was fate. She smiled at her feet, the thought of a predetermined existence made her feel somehow lighter. Her smile widened as he commented on how the kiss wasn't bad. That could only mean it was good, right?
"What was she like?" Alazne asked curiously, wondering what kind of girl Zane had preferred before the transition to this world. Her stomach did a flip as he started to brush her cheek and she gazed back into his eyes with a slight smile. "I really enjoy your company as well," She said quietly, leaning in closer to him and mirroring him by caressing his cheek with her thumb. At the back of her mind she hoped he didn't mind the innate intimacy of this moment, hoping that the worry didn't show on her face.

"She wasn't much, like I said, High School. She was rather demanding, and being young and stupid, I did everything she told me to. Until the rumors that I was a mass murdering psychopath started circulating..." he sighed, looking toward the ground with a frown. He looked back up at Alazne, and his smile returned. "I'm glad you enjoy my company as much as I enjoy yours. Maybe we could enjoy it more, someday." he said with a wink.
He stared into her eyes for a few moments. A smile forming on his face. "Alazne... don't take this the wrong way... But... Umm..." he bit his lower lip. He cursed himself inwardly, knowing he shouldn't have even started. Now she'll be curious. One leap of faith... You can stand on the platform, and never know what you may have missed. Or you can take a leap and hope it's a good one. He sighed, looking into her eyes again after a few moments of silence. Their hands still on their cheeks. Zane leaned forward quickly and kissed Alazne on the lips once again. He hoped it would come out to s positive reaction, but would understand if it didn't. He would hold the kiss until Laz wanted to end it...
