------------------------------------------NPC INTRO------------------------------------------ ----location: red meadow, near the virus' nest---- The Leech with blond hair and large, red wings looked out at the group who had spread across the meadow in front of them. He was wearing a uniform worn only be generals of the Virus Defense Force, a badge of honor glistening proudly on his chest in the crimson light of the unending sunset. He'd been chosen to lead this mission.
Looking out at the faces tinted in red from the horizon, he saw some that were familiar - fellow companions from the VDF - as well as many that weren't. There'd been quite a large turn-out, and they matched all sorts of descriptions, ranging greatly in age, appearance, and race. The General secretly wondered if all of them were really ready for this, but wouldn't complain. Without a large group of people, no one would stand a chance in such a place.
He nodded at them. "Is everyone ready? Make sure you really answer that question for yourself before we enter. The risks are great, and I can't promise your safety. You will need to rely on yourself as much as your companions. But what we are doing is something that can potentially bring great benefit to everyone, remember that."
With that, he lead them towards the entrance of the Virus' Nest, gesturing for the group to follow. It was an underground passage, and the entrance to the cavern loomed before them like a shadow on the ground before long.
It didn't take long to encounter trouble. Before they even reached the opening itself, something surged out from it in a mess of claws and fangs. A dingo-like Virus and a cougar-like Virus made a made dash towards, prepared to strike. The attacks had already begun.

A shot rang out from the group, a bullet cascading through the air toward the Cougar Like Virus. John moved swiftly forward to assist his Commander. His red cloak flared outward from the movement, showing his red Tattered wings for a few moments, before the cloak covered them again. "You've gotta be careful, Boss." He said in a friendly taunt, staying near the General.
Alyssa crossed the meadow quickly, the chill around her leaving the group, and moving with her. She reached out her clawed hand and caught the Virus, looking into its eyes before tearing it in half, dropping the two pieces on either side of her. "Dirty wastes of Data..." She muttered. She wasn't sure that the VDF would allow her to join in this mission, but it was apparent that they weren't declining her help thus far.
Sophia adjusted her duster as she watched the other two rush forward, a grin on her face. She would help, when it was needed, but until then, she was taking it easy. Seven extra chips in her pocket, each with about 65-70% energy. She was going to be perfect through here. She crossed her arms and started walking, keeping a few paces between herself and the General.

Aria and Iris were standing beside each other in the entrance towards the virus nest. Since Aria had entered the Virus Defense Force, she has been under Iris' strict watch and training. Because of this, she has gone a long way compared to how she did during her first time in the force. It will be Aria's first high-risk mission and one of Iris' countless ones. "A-Ah, Miss Iris, let's do our best and beat them with all we've got, okay?" Aria said as she looked towards Iris. In reply, Iris gave her a simple nod. As they were about to commence, a dingo-like virus and a cougar-like virus emerged from the cavern.
Iris quickly dashed forward towards the dingo virus since the cougar virus was already being taken care of. She was using her normal sword form, since goign in a cavern with a whip or a bow and arrow would be too inconvenient both for her and for allies. With impressive speed and grace, she made a stabbing motion towards the virus to try and pierce through it.
Aria was standing there, looking at the dingo virus and the cougar virus being fought by different people. She really couldn't do anything much since her bombardment attacks might hurt the others. However, since the viruses seemed to be getting out of that entrance, she speculated that there will be more of them. To make sure, she opened her book as a white pentagram appeared below her feet. If there will be no further threat, she can always cancel this spell. She can also redirect them towards one of the viruses in case someone needed backup. "Rays from the bright silver moon of the night, pierce through these foes..." she started chanting quietly, small sparkling specks gathering in the air around her.

Aroku was acting as back support at the moment, protecting the others from any ambushes from before. He kept his hand lazily on his sword, walking behind the group with his eyes on the tall patches of grasses and bundles of trees that looked almost like black shadows against the contrast of the sky. His cloths and skin was tinted red and orange from the forever stuck sunset that lay in the sky and brought an almost desert like effect across the area. Shadows loomed from trees and rock formations, offering shelter for any hidden Viruses. Aroku was here because he wished to help and find a way to stop viruses… and with the slim hope he may find his sister, alive of Virus…. He wished to see her. He hated the thought of having to kill her, but was it any better at the hands of a Virus? He didn’t really want to answer that, but there was barely any chance that his sister would be alive, let alone him recognizing her.
He kept his eyes looking around them when the two Viruses erupted in front of the group. He’d have to let them handle them, as he was in the back and busy at that. He had to be alert and without distraction to make sure no one died in the back because of his fault. There would have been massive casualty if they managed to come from behind and wipe them out. Then what chance would they have at stopping the Viruses. Aroku found that the two Viruses were easily killed… strange, he sought them to be stronger… what were the Viruses up too? Could there possibly be someone behind the Viruses, controlling them and plotting with them. It was a theory, but they wouldn’t know until they got into the nest.
“I must say, with all this noise, we are just going to draw much more attention to ourselves.” Aroku commented, pushing his glasses up onto the bridge of his nose with his middle and index finger.

The young siren walked in the middle of the large group, slipping through the tiniest gaps in the crowd until he was in the front, his peacock blue eyes filled with an expression of pure hatred for viruses. Here was a perfect chance to wreack the full force of his vengeance on the god damned monsters. For Murasaki. "Kamikaze." He said, forming an image of a large hawk inside his mind, and soon the air around him began to move faster, turning into a small tornado that gradually took the shape of a fairly large hawk, it's body made entirely of strong, blue tinted winds. With a hollow screech, it flew at an impossibly fast speed, it's aim clearly a lithe red eyed cat virus that had followed the dingo and cougar out of the opening. It hissed at the hawk, which was clearly at least three times it size, and the hawk again screeched, slowing down and beating it's huge wings several times before driving it's beak into the cat's side, which caused the virus to screech an unearthly noise, though it did not disappear. Damn. He had missed he vital point. He focused the hawk's attention on destroying the chip, which was a tiny thing embedded at the base of the cat's ear. The hawk gave a loud cry after it wrenched it's beak out of the cat's side, and beating it's wings to keep the cat at bay, it dove again, this time lodging it's beak right on the chip, cracking the fragile thing in two. The air hawk took to the air, and as it suddenly found itself nearly surrounded by aerial viruses, destroyed one more, a swallow virus, before returning to the silver haired siren's slender arm and being fed energy from him.

And so, the first blow in the battle against the Viruses had been struck.
Stood roughly in the middle of the group of colorful fighters, Celsus looked around at the odd gathering of civilian and paramilitary forces. While he lacked the capacity for wonder, he was still amazed at just how many had turned out. People who might normally not give a second thought to feeding on one another were now standing side-by-side, united in common interest, working together with effortless precision. Perhaps there was a merit to the Viruses' existence after all, if they had the power to bring together the other races in unanimous opposition, such as this.
The general's words hit home, and the Hollow nodded to confirm his understanding. As one of the few defensive fighters present in the group - Celsus held his silver rapier poised to defend his allies. Some of them he recognized; such as the resourceful Iris, and his former traveling companion, Leanne Martel. Knowing these people personally, Celsus was especially anxious not to see them die. Nor would he stand by and allow anyone else to be needlessly slaughtered. Reaching into his tattered folds, he produced a silver vial of liquid, which he commanded to evaporate. Filling the air with tiny reflective beads of water, which mingled with the glowing particles forming around one of the other Leeches - who was charging up an attack of some kind.
Using the light from her attack as a source, Celsus bounced his vision through his mirrored eye, across the droplets, and down into the yawning cavern they had all come here to invade. His vision piercing the darkness; he saw an additional four more Viruses haphazardly making their way towards the surface. Unlike the gathering amassed here, they had no knowledge of teamwork, and they pushed and shoved in their zeal to conquer and devour. With a quick slash of his rapier - the Hollow exposed them by creating a reflective screen high up in the sky, reflecting the amber rays of the setting sun down into the dark tunnel like a searchlight. With a couple more slashes, three more mirrors appeared, and the combined reflective glare became so bright that the viruses had to stop to shield their eyes. Effectively preventing them from launching any more sneak attacks out of the shadows.
Standing with his back to the sun, like all the others, Matthew gazed down into the tunnel unhindered by the light. Illuminated from the heavens, it didn't look quite so menacing anymore. Retaining something of his old self-preserving nature, the Beast shrank back towards the rear of the group, avoiding the Hollow's gaze, where he fell in line with one of the Leeches making up the vanguard of the allied raiding party. "What's the matter? Are you scared?" He teased the red-haired man, partially to hide how anxious he was himself. This was where all Virus came from, right? So no doubt there would be hundreds, if not thousands, of the blasted things inside that cave. Against such a number, what realistic chance did a bunch of uncoordinated misfits stand? Not much, he was sad to say. I don't know if I'm cut out for this... He swallowed with a gulp, watching the individual battles rage all around him. It would be his turn next, all too soon for the Beast's liking.

Before the Virus had even appeared Skye had already felt himself grow nauseous. He wasn't sure if it was a side effect of all the nearby distortion, or caused by his own nervousness. Perhaps a bit of both. He couldn't help but feel what he was doing was crazy, but he refused to leave, staying at his place near the middle of the mass of people. Glancing around, he realized that he had to be one of the youngest ones here, but he reminded himself that would've been 21 one had this been the real world. Even if time wouldn't, he was going to make himself into an adult! He anxiously ran his fingers down the handle of the scythe he was holding. There was also the possibility that he'd see his father here. What would happen, if they did? Would they have to...? But he wasn't going to run away from his past this time! He knew that alone would make his father proud.
As he looked around, he also noticed two familiar faces, though, and he smiled just a bit. Towards the back of the crowd was Aroku, the Leech who he'd traveled with to Valli, and who'd given him the money for his scythe, and Sophia, a Beast he'd met during a trip to Bell Carnival. He knew they were both strong, and seeing them made him feel a bit better. He passed them a grin and a wave, but he wasn't sure they noticed in the huge crowd.
But as soon as they started to move towards the entrance, chaos all at once broke out, the boy shrieking in spite of himself as two Viruses surged from the entrance.
Sofia was both excited and nervous, practically on pins and needles, as they approached the entrance. The VDF member absently wondered whether this was the largest multi-race gathering that had taken place in this world thus far - the sheer volume of fighters was immense! She didn't have long to relish in it, though. The chaos begun quickly, with two Viruses emerging and making the first move of the attack. Her gun already in her hand, the Claw girl quickly shot out a full round of bullets. Most connected with their targets, the girl managing to pepper the dingo-like Virus with holes before her round ran out. But the thing just kept on running, moving right passed her as it charged its way into the large group of fighters as if it had hardly noticed. Dang! She must not have connected with its chip anywhere! She attempted to reload her gun as fast as her trained fingers would allow, watching as a few other fighters helped make quick work of them, including a Hollow girl with a rapier, and a certain 'good' Virus and melancholy-songed Siren that she'd met recently in Savette.
As they moved towards the entrance, Leanne quickly took note of a few faces that she recognized. There was Celsus Destan, the Hollow who'd helped her get back her stolen belongings in the Marsh from a certain thief. Indeed, they'd seen each other again, and not too long afterwards. It'd seemed they both ended up with the same idea in mind after their parting. Much to her surprise, she also saw said certain thief mixed in ahead of her in the crowd. She almost didn't believe it at first, but there was no mistaking his face. So, he had survived. She wasn't sure whether she felt disappointed or relieved, but either way, she resisted the urge to send her axe flying in his direction, although she couldn't help a harsh, 'stay away from me trash' type glare that she couldn't be quite sure he'd caught. Beyond even that, she saw Aria, the girl who could quite possibly be her half sister aways ahead with another VDF member. She passed her a brief wave, but despite all the thoughts in her head, stayed focused on the task at hand as the first two of surely many Viruses surged out.
With so many fighters, they were vastly outnumbered, but it didn't stay just two for long. Four more were about to erupt from the entrance, but came to a startled halt as mirror-like barriers of water suddenly appeared around them, reflecting the sunlight to expose and blind them. That could only be the work of one person. She passed Celsus back a brief grin, before charging in their direction herself. Between the mirrors and the way the other Martel was hovering defensively over the entrance, it was well guarded, but you couldn't take anything for granted, not when you were dealing with this many Viruses at once. Using her axe, she slashed at one of the disorientated Viruses, slashing across it across its chest and stomach area in hopes to find and destroy the chip.
Despite the fury of swipes and the creature's pained cries, she had no luck, and the wolverine-like creature raised a claw to attack. She flinched, but the hit never came. Instead, she opened her eyes just in time to see the Virus be tackled to the ground by its own shadow, all at once fading away as its likeness slashed at the creature's own neck. As its body faded, she could see a young, terrified-looking Beast boy with black wings standing behind it, shaking as the shadow dematerialized. They'd been fortunate, he'd made a lucky hit and connected with the chip that had apparently been in its neck.
But there was no time to celebrate a victory. Another Virus suddenly surged into the ground, have managed to slip passed the well guarded entrance. With so many, nothing could be fool proof. "Look out!" Sofia called out in alarm, sending out more bullets from her now reloaded gun, but to no avail as it dived into the crowd.[/blockquote]

After the dingo virus has been defeated, two more viruses emerged from the entrance. One looked like a human-sized serpent and the other one was a crow. Rushing towards the serpent, she ignited her blade. As it caught fire, she lunged towards it with speed and stabbed her sword easily right through its forehead, pinning it to the ground. She did not know where the chip was yet. To make sure, she closed her eyes and spoke to the virus. "I will quickly end your misery." she said with her monotonous voice as she got on her knees and dragged the blade along the whole length of the snake. Hitting all its body parts, the snake finally faded and she stood up to look at the crow. It was high up in the sky, so she had no way of hitting it if she was on the ground. She quickly locked onto the crow and jumped up as she threw her sword, precisely hitting the crow's throat as it vanished and her sword started falling towards the ground. Performing a front flip, she moved her body in the air a bit forward, grabbed her sword, and landed gracefully on the ground. She saw Iris charging her bombardment attack and nodded. It was impressive that she is finally seeing her make her own decisions.
Aria finally finished the preparation of her skill as pointed dagger-like projectiles, about fifty of them, surrounded the air around her. She can freely control the directional path of the projectiles now and she saw everyone fighting their own group of viruses. She noticed someone shouting for them to look out and she saw Sofia trying to shoot down a virus, but unsuccessfully. To get a better aim, she flew up. She called out to Sofia in a loud voice. "U-Umm..! Please get out of the way, I got him!" her tone was nervous as she spoke and she closed her eyes. She decided not to interfere with the others but to just hit her current target, the virus diving into the crowd. "I'm sorry... please depart in peace..." she whispered as she opened her eyes and pointed her staff at the virus Sofia was trying to shoot. "Luna Blitzkrieg.... Fire!" she declared as ten of the fifty went into a concentrated path towards the unnoticed virus. She saw three tiger-like viruses emerge from the entrance and she shot the rest of her projectiles in a spread pattern, making forty small explosions near the entrance to the cavern, leaving it unharmed but destroying all three viruses. The energy that remained form them flowed into her body and she sighed, closing her eyes. "That was tense.... I can't believe I did it..."

John took a few shots at the arial viruses, felling a couple. He turned his attention back to the ones coming out of the hole. A string of explosions destroyed the three that had just walked out. From behind the smoke cover this made a pair of Panther-like hybrids lunged at him. He shot one as it lunges and braced for the pain of the other, but it never came. He looked up and saw three Wolf-Like viruses tearing into it. He looked around, his eyes falling on the grin Ally held on her face.
"Don't worry. Friends of mine." she said, turning her attention to the arial viruses. She placed a hand on the ground, shifting into her normal form, that of a large sapphire scaled dragon. She watched as Iris jumped up with her blade and took out a flying virus. "Hop on, I'll get you closer." she said, bowing her head low and allowing Iris a few moments to hop on her back before flapping her large wings and propelling herself into the air, ready to take Iris's command.
Sophia yawned, knowing that she had to do some work now. She was surrounded by small, dog-like viruses. She counted 6 of them and laughed. "well then, I haven't gotten all day." she taunted as they lunged for her. Using her Wolf-like speed and instinct she was able to Make short work of the smaller dogs. As soon as the last one dropped she rushed for a small group of other viruses, tearing into them with all the ferocity she could muster.

Ayame walked along the crowd, keeping a distance from them. They were quite a lot of participants - wouldn't be easy to recognize someone from here. Nor could someone easily recognize her with the black cloak she wore over her usual outfit, not too long nor completely covered she head as a slight glimpse of her pinkish red hair could be seen. She joined this Expedition for the price it payed. The siren had no interest of the VDF's true objective. No one was ever too safe from a Virus, heck forget Viruses, someone of their own race could easily will them.
It seemed as they neared by, viruses had already come out to attack. Just the entrance was flooded with those creatures, entering the nest would be suicidal. However, she agreed on this mission at her own risk and thus had no regrets coming this far. At first a few people from the large congregation of races where able to handle the hated race of different forms - a serpent, cougar and such. She decided to join the fight, as being a spectator wasn’t entertaining. As she headed a bit further, she came face to face with wildebeest like creature, as it charged at her. Ayame quickly drew out her sword as she readied an attack. As the virus came closer, she slashed across the creature’s chest as she jumped back. The creature yelped as a hollow cut appeared on its chest. It wasn’t finish just yet and it came at her again. The siren stood in a attack stance readily. As it charged at her again, she quickly had her sword thrust through the creature's left eye, destroying the chip as the data faded away.
Taking a look around - the once calm look red meadows, now was a terrifying battlefield - smoke, dust, projectiles and such everywhere as explosions heard and there could be heard. It seemed countless numbers seemed to be emerging from no where.

Aroku’s eyes slowly shifted to the side. He’d not be able to use his cyclone powers within the large group without hurting them, and the main attacks were in the front. They would have to handle it for now, as the sound of rustling grass caught his attention. He turned on his heel, one hand grasping the sheath of the sword, the other tightening it’s grip on the handle as he drew the large lightweight sword. It’s steel was red, hued black further down the blade. This hollow, the strange bandaged creature, had asked if he was scared. No… he was not, he was merely being cautious. Only an imbecile would deliberately try to slay all the hollows. And considering that this was their nest, that would be impossible, it’d be best to save their energy if they could. Once they got inside it’d be much worse than this.
Winds started to visibly draw to his blade like white streams of gust, spinning around in a thin dense lair of pure oxygen. He’d never had that happen before, was he getting a new power? Or was his old one strengthening? Aroku couldn’t be bothered asking questions like that as he charged towards the large grasses, strait toward the peering red glowing eyes that looked out upon him. As he approached, the large shadow pounced out from it’s hiding place, letting out a loud and malicious roar. A rather large lion virus stood there, it’s large mane indicating it would have been male, if it weren’t for the asexual thing. Or so, that’s what Aroku believed… they couldn’t possibly mate, could they?
The Lion stood in between the group and Aroku, letting out vicious hissed growls. Aroku took a few sidesteps, cautiously keeping his eye on the virus. It suddenly charged, baring it’s large paws against the ground and sprinting towards Aroku. The red haired leech held his sword up horizontal to his chest, his palm against the blade. His green eyes determined and unmoving from the large target barreling towards him with reckless malicious abandon. Its crimson eyes reflecting that of the deep hued red sunset. Aroku ran at it as it pounced once more, he let his foot slid, hitting the ground and skidding under it, slashing his sword into it’s stomach, causing it to howl out and hit the ground limply, rolling on the hard dirt scattered by low reaching grasses. Aroku jumped up to his feet, turning to face it as he kept his sword ready, the winds pulling around it making the blade much sharper than he originally intended. The lion Virus got up to its feet, a purring growl escaping its throat.
Aroku gritted his teeth, knowing this virus was stronger than just the normal every day birds and dogs that people came across. This thing had years of experience in killing, and intended to kill them. Aroku shifted a foot back, changing his stance as he raised his sword vertically, then sprinting directly at the lion. His large blue see-through wings unfolded from his back almost like a butterfly newly spreading it’s wings from their emerged cocoon. The draping wings spread out, the multiple large feather like wings making up the butterfly like shape as the scale pattern reflected elegantly across the red light. He stomped off the ground, taking to the air and shifted his sword strait down, letting his wings press against his back as he fell towards the Lion, blade seeking to impale it’s black vile form. The lion evaded him, dodging to the side as Aroku’s blade sliced into the ground with great force, the winds that had been encased around his blade becoming unstable and burst away from the blade in a flurry of winds, tearing rock and grass alike from the blade’s current position.
The Virus jogged around the grassy outline, eyes watching Aroku as the Leech pulled his sword from the ground. The two ran at each other, engaging in mortal combat as they blocked each other’s attacks, the sound of claws hitting metal rung through the grass as their entangled fight was cast in hues of Crimson and shadows. If it wasn’t for the actual peril, it would have been a sight to see and something one would have probably paid to see. But the fact remained, it was a life or death situation. And the outcome was almost even on behalf of which of the two would die. Aroku couldn’t afford to waist his energy here, he needed someone to intervene so they could hurry on and get in, do what they needed, and get out.
Aroku rolled on the ground, scrambling to avoid the massive jaws of the Virus that snapped at his neck, trying to kill him. He slashed at the Virus as he got to his knees, pushing himself back up to his feet and dodging a swipe of it’s claws, using his downward tilted sword to force the paw to slide away from his direction as it’s sharp thick nails scrapped against the metal in a clash of sound. Aroku took the opportunity to seize momentum, taking his sword and swinging it up in a windmill motion, bringing it back down with much more force, hoping to cleave the Virus in half. But it roared and jumped away, crouching low and sprinting at him once more. And once more, they were interlocked in battle.

Oh great, that Leech was here too! Wincing as she shot him a murderous glance, the Beast's hand moved involuntarily to touch the spot on his chest where she'd caught him with her axe during their last encounter. Scowling back at her before she turned to empty her wrath upon one of the attacking Viruses instead, Matt folded his arms and watched from the sidelines as all around him a multitude of unique fighters waged their own private battles. Some of them quite exciting to watch. Though the trickle of Viruses coming out of the cave soon turned into a never-ending flood - the mixed band of VDF members and random bystanders was doing surprisingly well, despite the impossible odds. Slaughtering abominations left, right and center!
He wondered how long they could keep it up though? They were making an impressive start, but the Viruses were attacking relentlessly, coming at the invaders from all sides, not just from the cave entrance. Thinking about it... it was almost as if they were being summoned from elsewhere. Like insects. They were all working towards a common purpose: they were defending the hive. Frowning, Matt directed his stare over towards the entrance tunnel, which was still illuminated, and mostly empty of Viruses. Were they waiting in ambush inside? Or were they unable to attack because they were protecting something? Could there be some sort of Virus Queen inside? Not liking the direction his thoughts were taking him, the Beast suppressed a shudder and turned to watch the red-haired Leech charge away from him without a word, engaging some sort of feline behemoth in a battle to the death.
The spectacle had not gone unnoticed by another. His field of vision spanning the range of the entire battlefield thanks to the thousands of tiny water droplets - Celsus sized up the Virus immediately as being abnormally strong compared to the rest. While most of the battles so far had been over bloodlessly, his comrades dealing with them too swiftly to require assistance, this monstrous Lion was battle-scarred and fat from energy stolen from countless individuals. It's opponent was no slouch either, but even he was clearly experiencing difficulty. Turning his back on the cave in an instant, Celsus marched with mechanical swiftness in the direction of the two combatants, the Lion too busy attempting to pummel his opponent with powerful sweeping movements of his claws to even notice the Hollow coming.
Cleaving his rapier through the air in a curve, the Lion's next attempt to swipe the Leech off his feet was intercepted by a silver screen of water, a liquid doppelganger of the ferocious Virus deflecting his attack with a blow of equal power. His previous prey now protected behind a barrier impenetrable by conventional force, the abominable feline set his sights instead upon his new enemy. Charging towards Celsus with a feral snarl. Raising his rapier in preparation; the Hollow ducked and rolled to the left as the Virus pounced, parrying a kick from the side and then jumping backwards to avoid a lunge as the Lion attempted to bite off his arm. Always one step ahead, the power of Panoptes' Gaze allowed him to see the Virus from every angle simultaneously, making predicting the massive creature's movements easy for the bandaged cyborg.
While he either dodged or deflected every blow, the Hollow lacked sufficient opportunity to attack, and was relying on the Leech to step in and finish off the Virus now that he had a suitable distraction. Entertained by the sight of the Danse Macabre the two warriors had going on between themselves and the nightmare cat, Matthew smiled as he watched his mummified assailant waste his energy in defense of another. Like a true opportunist, the Beast planned on waiting until everyone else had tired themselves out a bit before he stepped into the fray. Letting them weaken the Viruses first so that it would be safer for him when he started fighting. It's not like he didn't plan on joining in sooner or later, he had volunteered for this, after all. It's just that he was getting a gut feeling; a sensation that something wasn't right about this whole situation. If there really was an accident waiting to happen, surely having someone who wasn't tired out from fighting to help deal with it was better for everyone?

"U-Umm..! Please get out of the way, I got him!"
Sofia looked up as she heard the voice call down to her. Hovering not far above was Aria Martel, another VDF member that specialized on aerial attacks. With the wide range of her attacks, if she said to get out of the way, she probably should. She jolted back, just in time to see the Virus she'd been trying to shoot get decimated along with several others who tried to charge out. She gave a brief, grateful salute and a grin to her teammate before quickly reloading her gun and charging back into the fray.
Viruses seemed to be coming from everywhere now, on all sides, not just the entrance. Maybe they were returning, or perhaps being called, back to their home den to protect it. Oddly enough, as she glanced back at the entrance, not many seemed to be coming from inside the tunnels anymore. That was good in a way, in that it would allow them to perhaps enter more easily as soon as they took care of this outside ambush, but she was sure there had to be more around. Would they face another ambush somewhere inside? Were the rest of the Viruses in the tunnel waiting for them now? Was there something inside that they were trying to guard or didn't want to leave? She was eager to get inside, the girl anxious and yet somehow still curious about what they'd find.
But they needed to focus on destroying the immediate threats at hand, now. Things had gotten intense. At first the number that had been appearing had been countable, but now they were everywhere, and she could hear not only the cries of the Viruses, but also screams rising from the 100 or so participants. She feared that the large crowd of fighters was already a little smaller. Careful not to hit any allies, she peppered bullets into all open Viruses that she saw, getting lucky and managing to hit the chips of a couple that quickly faded away. Perfect! She grinned in satisfaction, preparing for another round as the current crop of Viruses finally seemed to thin out just a bit.
Skye looked down at his hands, the boy seeing them tremble in a mixture of fear and disbelief. He'd did it! He'd defeated one! The Leech girl he'd helped was quickly off, and unsure of what to do next in the huge mess of conflict and screams, he cast a wide-eyed, frightened glance around. Acting like a deer-in-the-headlights wasn't wise. It was only a moment before he was jumped by another, leopard-like Virus. This was was much larger than the one he'd previously helped destroy, and it came at him with teeth bared. The boy let out a shriek and propelled himself away with his wings just in time to avoid the creature's fangs. Whirling on it, the Beast boy called upon his shadow puppeteering ability to take control of the huge creature's shadow. It was hard to do with such a strong foe and large shadow, and he grit his teeth in concentration and fatigue, but he managed to make the creature's shady reflection tackle its owner, bringing the huge Virus down to the ground as it struggled angrily beneath its own solidified shadow. He wasn't sure how long he could maintain control of the shadow, and with so much focus on holding it down there was no way he could finish it off, but for the moment, the Virus was vulnerable. "Someone, get it now!" He called out desperately, hoping for someone else to destroying the raging creature before it got loose. A large amount of Viruses were pouring in from all sides, but the ragtag group seemed to fairing surprisingly well, Leanne noted as she debated where to attack next, now that the one she'd been fighting with was destroyed. Her potential half sister made quick work of several Viruses that tried to emerge from the entrance, and many other fighters were tearing mercilessly into the other Viruses assailing the crowd. She would rejoin them. She took back off into the fray, slashing at any she caught sight off. She made a few lucky hits and decimated the chips of a couple, but an unseen claw suddenly smacked her from the side, sending her to the ground. "Akk!" She cried in surprise, struggling to recover from where she lay on the ground. The badger-like Virus who'd hit her raised another claw to attack.[/blockquote]

[[Would it be alright if Miharu joined in for the joy of killing though he didn't sign up?]] A small blonde child sat on top of a large rock, peering down curiously down at the fighting mass of leeches, claws, sirens, beasts, hollows and a few scattered viruses. They hadn't noticed him yet. Good. The cute child then smiled in a way that made shivers go down the toughest of people's spines, and one of his eyes temporarily turned a bloody shade of red, right before it turned back to it's clear sea blue as the smile slowly disappeared off his face as he once again took on his adorable expression. The boy fluttered his wings, one a beautiful dark blue with silver markings, and the other an 'ugly' tattered blood ed wing, the only thing remaining of the seemingly ravaged wing was a thin blood red rim, representing the child's split personality. Crouching, he then hopped off the rock, and began to approach another leech, a tall man locked in battle with a lion virus. He pulled out his tiny dagger as he skipped towards the mortal enemies, slicing the air as he moved his arms along with his legs, and to anyone, this would have seemed perfectly normal, excluding the sharp silver dagger in the boy's hand, but in reality it had just sliced through a miniscule insect virus, no bigger than Miharu's thumb, dispatching the weak creature quickly and silently. Stopping a few feet from the edge of the fierce battle between the child noted with another disturbing smile and one red and one blue eye [again], that a hollow had joined the fight, summoning a doppelganger of the virus, except it was the color of liquid. So he was a aqua hollow. The blank leech crouched in a child like way, his disturbing smile replaced by a cute one and his eyes returning to normal again as he rested his chin in his palms. Deciding, it would be fun to intervene, the little boy spoke as his eyes found the small chip's location on the red eyed lion. "Ne ne, Onii-chans over there!" He called out, attempting to attract the two [most likely] older men, waving the hand with the dagger in it franticly. "The chip is on Neko Virus-chan's underbelly!"He finished, deciding the saying Neko Virus-chan would add to the innocence. It wouldn't to have any suspicious people wouldn't it? Though Miharu didn't mind 'playing' with anybody who found out. The young man made the hawk fly again, soaring towards a small group of more aerial viruses, and with a screech it tore into the unsuspecting viruses, ripping them apart ferociously, as if to reflect Yuki's hate and building anger. The hawk was on the ground, tearing apart the last pitiful virus bird, when suddenly it began to turn into a dark red color, and it began to shift into a tiger with faint black stripes and slightly faded appearance, as it was still made of air. It was also larger than your average tiger, revealing that Yuki's anger had made it stronger. With a vicious and loud roar, it bounded forward, colliding with a somewhat humanoid virus as it knocked it down with sheer strength, before ripping out it's throat and violently ripping the body apart until the virus evaporated, it's chip finally having been destroyed. The siren was suddenly assaulted by a small hound virus, and he felt slightly dizzy from the distortion. He had to hurry. Softly singing a quiet melody that no one else could hear over the noise of the battle, the siren was careful to not try and take energy from the virus as he lured it into letting go of him, and as his wounds recovered, the siren wore a dazzling smile that served to further enchant the hound before driving his bronze falchion into the monster's chip, feeling no pity for the yelping hound as it began to die. The nausea Yuki was feeling began to ebb, though not by very much, as the large battle party was still surrounded by viruses of various degrees of power.

Claws of a wolf virus caught Sophia by surprise. Cutting through the sleeve of her duster. "You wanna play rough? LETS PLAY!" she called out. The shadows that were cast by the group and trees around the city swirled around the girl. She let out a beastly howl, the shadows taking the form of a wolf around her. She ran on all fours and tore through the wolf. She looked up in time to see a large bear-virus charging toward her. She charged at it headlong and leapt upwards, coming down on it's back and tearing into it with her arms and teeth. She tore at it's back, holding on with her back legs as it thrashed. She saw it's chip and reached back, about to tear through it when she was tackled by a tiger-virus. It pinned her and was about to clamp down on her neck when the shadows curled around it and thinned up, solidifying, and pulling through it. Megan stood and dispatched the bear with a growl, letting her shadow-control fade and looking over the scene around her.
John jumped backwards, avoiding a claw. The big viruses came to the party. That wasn't good. Not with civilians in the same area. The three dog-viruses ran through the meadow with him as he charged at a rhino-like virus that was getting ready to charge. He jumped high and shot down, at it's shoulder. This caused It to fall enough to stop it from charging through the VDF attack force. The dogs tore into the rhinos side, one keeping attacks on it's shoulder to keep it from charging. Shot after shot rang from Johns gun. The bullets barely able to get into the Rhinos back. After a few more shots a sword, made entirely of shadows stuck into the rhinos back. Then a second one. John looked up at Sophia as she landed, grabbing one and nodding at John. He grabbed the other and the two of them, with the help I'd the dogs tore the rhino to shreds.
Ally landed, allowing any of her passengers off. A cone of ice erupted from her mouth, aimed at another Dragon-like virus. She lunged at it and pushed her claws at it's chest. It moved back, slowed from the ice, and just caught the tips of her claws. She growled and looked at her opponent. Large, Bat-Like wings. Curved horns. Black scales glistening with a menacing feel. This was going to be hard. It breathed a cone of an acid-like substance at her. The acid hit the virus behind her when Abe dodged. She threw her head forward, clamping down on the black dragons neck. Breathing out a cone of ice, at close range, caused the black dragon to cry out in pain. It tore at her with it's claws, but she ignores the searing pain in her shoulder. Biting down with more force caused the dragon to howl out again, it hitting her shoulder again. She released it for a few seconds, just long enough to call out "FIND ITS CHIP!" before clamping on it's neck again. If she didn't keep her feet locked into the ground, the black dragon would easily overpower her, killing her itself.
"Anything you can do I can do better, I can do anything better than you~~~" Zane sang as he moved through a small bit of trees, seeing a large fight going on. His eyes widened as he felt the energies of a few of the fighters flow into him. He grinned widely and stepped into the clearing. He noticed the 'mirrors' which allowed views of all of the fighters from any angle. He scanned all the people that were fighting. A few had some awesome powers. He couldn't decide which to use to make himself known. His bright red hair twitched as wind surrounded him. He found a few to use, that he may be able to put together rather well. A large, Elephant-like Virus reared its way into the battlefield, tossing some of the smaller viruses as it did. It stopped in its tracks when the grass twisted together and up its legs. He pushed upwards, a large gust of wind propelling him forward. The light near his hand started to fade, then shifted into the shape of a sword, solidifying as he lodged the sword in the back of the Elephant. He had used his Data Encoding ability to keep the Control of Shadows and Green Hand, courtesy of Sophia and Sofia respectively. He slashed at the back of the Elephant a few more times. He stabbed into the base of the elephants back, taking its chip. He ran down the back of the fading elephant, and lunged at a group of smaller viruses, dispatching them quickly. His eyes grew pale as he caught sight of the Panoptic Mirror once again, his eyes falling on Aria. A pentagram appeared under him, and he started mimicking the incantation Aria had spoke earlier. He didn't want to, it seemed like an automatic reaction. Speckles of light appearing around him. His eyes locked on the mirror that showed the girl. He was unsure if he was going to be able to control where the shots went, but he was going to find out before too long.
